Shoppers in the UK now buy £300million of Fairtrade goods a year, campaigners revealed yesterday. As Fairtrade Fortnight begins, figures show sales hit £290million in 2006, a rise of 46 per cent on the previous year. And this year, sales are already running at an annual rate of at least £300million.
